Procedure for income assessment of disability pension changes
Gildi Pension Fund's new procedure for income assessment relating to disability pension, which was announced, among other things, in a letter to members at the end of last year, has now changed.
The background to the matter is that on 31 August last, a legal provision that prohibited pension funds from taking into account increases in social insurance income when calculating disability pension payments was repealed. Gildi responded in November by changing its procedure for income assessment relating to disability pension in line with the law and the fund's articles of association. See more in the news item about this here.
The authorities have now, however, reversed their decision through new legislation passed at the end of last year, which means that Gildi will not take general increases in social insurance payments into account in its income assessment up to and including 31 December 2026. Income assessment will continue to take into account all categories of social insurance benefits.
Gildi will correct the disability pension of those who were negatively affected as a result of the above, with the January pension payment. It should be noted that most of those receiving disability payments from Gildi were not affected by the change last year and will therefore see no change now.
